Information

Synopsis

Anna lives with her foster parents and is an outsider without friends, constantly outside the action. One day, she is sent to live with her foster mother’s relatives, Kiyomasa and Setsu Ooiwa, in a rural seaside village in Hokkaido to cure her asthma. She stays with them and spends most of her day running wild in the sand dunes and by the water. There she finds a house, the Marsh house, which makes her realise her feelings, and soon she meets a strange little girl called Marnie, who becomes Anna’s first friend. Then, one day, Marnie disappears again.

One day, Sayaka moves into the Marshs’ house with her parents. After learning so much from Marnie about friendship, Anna and Sayaka begin a solid friendship. In the process, she learns some strange things about Marnie, who was not quite what she seemed …
