Yorinuki Gintama-san on Theater 2D fasst den Shinsengumi Crisis Arc (Epsioden 101-105) sowie den Kabukicho Four Devas Arc (Episoden 210-214) der Originalserie in 2 Filmen zusammen.

Im Shinsengumi Crisis Arc erhält Toushirou Hijikata ein verfluchtes Schwert, woraufhin er sich seltsam verhält und was ihn letztendlich in Schwierigkeiten bringt.
Der Kabukicho Four Devas Arc befasst sich mit der Ankunft eines jungen Mädchens, welches danach strebt Gintokis Untergeordnete zu werden, und den daraus resultierenden Spannungen zwischen Kabukichos vier großen Mächten.

Die beiden Filme liefen zeitweise in ausgewählten Kinos in Japan.
