Kyouko ist Kanames beste Freundin. Sie hat eine enthusiastische Persönlichkeit und findet Sousukes Integrations-Schwierigkeiten im Gegensatz zu Kaname weniger lästig als vielmehr unterhaltsam. Sie versucht auch mehr als nur einmal, dass Kaname und Sousuke sich endlich näher kommen, weil sie findet, dass die beiden ein perfektes Paar abgeben und neckt die beiden deswegen auch unglaublich gerne. Ihre Bemühungen sind jedoch nie von Erfolg gekrönt. Aber auch als stille Beobachterin hat sie ihren Spaß an den vielen kleinen und großen Katastrophen, die sich in Sousukes Pfad ereignen. Mit Kaname geht sie durch dick und dünn; sie aufzumuntern, versteht sie geradezu als ihre Pflicht, auch wenn es dadurch manchmal scheint, als könne Kyouko grundsätzlich überhaupt nichts ernst nehmen.
