Herr Yasuda ist Kenta Kobashis Trainer und Manager. Er kennt die Schwächen seines Schüztlings und vertraut darauf, dass dieser an der zusammen ausgearbeiteten Taktik festhält. Er erzählt Kobashi, dass Schlagkraft nur bis zu einem gewissen Maß antrainiert werden kann und der Großteil der Kraft in einem Schlag angeboren ist. Für ihn stellt ein K.o. nicht alles im Boxen dar, auch ein solider Stratege kann ein erfolgreicher Boxer sein ohne nennenswerten kräftigen Punch. Da der Herr schon etwas älter ist, kann er mit seinen jungen Boxern beim Pratzentraining nicht mehr so gut mithalten und klagt über Probleme mit der Hüfte.
