Hanako ist eine langjährige Bekannte der Familie Inaba und kümmert sich schon seit langem um die jüngste Tochter Chitose, da deren Eltern beide verstorben sind, die Mutter schon vor vielen Jahren, der Vater erst vor kurzen und nach langer Krankheit. Auch deren Bruder Hiroshi ist erst vor wenigen Tagen aus der Stadt in seine Heimat zurückgekehrt ist, um der Beerdigung seines Vater beizuwohnen. Die leidenschaftliche Motorradfahrerin hat eine sehr enge Beziehung zu den beiden Kindern der Familie und wird von ihnen nur mit Kako angesprochen.

Für gewöhnlich ist Hanako eine sehr offene und lebensfrohe Person, die jeden Tag genießt und sich die Laune nur sehr schwer verderben lässt, jedoch sind die Ereignisse der letzten Zeit auch an ihr nicht spurlos vorbeigegangen. Dennoch lässt sie sich nicht unterkriegen und unterstützt Chitose und Hiroshi auch weiterhin so gut es geht.
