Youko war diejenige, die Yume einst am Strand gefunden hat, ohne Erinnerung, aber dann entdeckte, dass ihr Blut heilende Kräfte besitzt. Nun ist sie neben Nene Hohepriesterin im Nako-Kult um Yume und immer noch deren engste Vertraute und Bezugsperson. Sie versucht immer wieder, Yumes Selbstbewusstsein zu stärken und sie darin zu unterstützen, ihren eigenen Körper zu akzeptieren, den sie für verflucht hält. Dahinter verbirgt sich weniger religiöse Hingabe als aufrichtige Liebe, die Youko für Yume empfindet.

Weil Akuji Bezirk um Bezirk an sich reißt, stimmt Youko mit Yume überein, dass es Zeit für Friedensgespräche und einen Waffenstillstand sei, wobei sie jedoch nicht damit gerechnet haben, dass Nene sich darüber hinweg setzt und eigene Pläne verfolgt, die sie letztendlich doch in einen Kampf verwickeln.
