Felix ist der Sohn von Oskar von Reuental und Elfriede von Kohlrausch. Da beide aber eigentlich kein Kind wollten und sich daher nicht um das Kind kümmern können, möchte Oskar, dass Wolfgang Mittermeyer sich um ihn kümmert. Der Wunsch ein Kind zu haben, war bei Wolfgang schon immer da, aber er und seine Frau wurden nie mit einem Kind gesegnet. Oskar weiß, wie nett Wolfgang zu dem Kind sein würde und sieht daher ein, dass Felix bei ihm am besten aufgehoben ist.
