Der Vater von Yang Wenli ist ein Mensch, der nach den Maßstäben des Geldes lebt, so versucht er sein Reichtum stets noch weiter auszubauen. Sein Sohn hat andere Zukunftsvisionen, denn er will Geschichte studieren, was sein Vater nicht so ganz verstehen kann, da dies kaum Geld einbringen kann, aber da er sieht, wie verbissen sein Sohn ist, gibt er sich geschlagen. Die Antiquitäten, die er sammelt, sind sein Reichtum, worunter sich einige sehr wertvolle Schätze befinden.

Wie sich später herausstellt, sind alle Gegenstände vollkommen wertlos, da es Fälschungen sind.
