Demi ist der Sohn von John und Meg Brooke, der älteren Schwester von Missis Jo und somit ihr Neffe. Er wurde von seinen Eltern nach Plum Field geschickt, weil er ein sehr stiller und in sich gekehrter Junge war, der nichts anderes tat als zu lesen. Seine Zwillingsschwester Daisy begleitete ihn nach Plum Field, weil die zwei unzertrennlich waren. Er ist immer noch sehr brav und auch ein wenig naiv und teilt sich sein Zimmer mit seinem Gegenstück Tommy.
