Da sein altes Team eine Softballmannschaft war, ist er im Umgang mit Hardballs noch recht unerfahren. Auch wenn er sehr schüchtern ist, geht es um Baseball, dann kann er aus sich herauskommen. Steht er auf dem Hügel, kann er also sein ganzes Potential zeigen, ohne von seiner Nervosität negativ beeinflusst zu werden. Vor allem durch Goros Hilfe wird er schon nach kurzer Zeit zu einem guten Pitcher. Dieser gibt ihm nämlich nach dem eigentlichen Training noch weitere Übungsstunden, damit Seiya seinen Wurf verbessern kann.
