Ein durch die Macht von Thanatos lebendig gewordener Sumpf stellt sich Yuzuriha im Wald des Todes entgegen, die von ihren Gefährten Tenma und Yato getrennt wurde. Da er keinen festen Körper hat, sind Attacken gegen ihn nahezu wirkungslos. Zum Kämpfen sei er aber ohnehin nicht gekommen, stattdessen versucht er Yuzuriha zum Verrat an ihren Freunden zu animieren, indem er ihr in Aussicht stellt, mit ihrem Bruder Tokusa zurück in ihre Heimat kehren zu können, davon ausgehend sie hätte Gewissensbisse wegen seines Todes.
