Nachdem Toshiyas Eltern aufgrund ihrer Schulden schnell ausziehen mussten, ließen sie ihren Sohn zurück. Von seinen Eltern alleine gelassen, musste er dann zu seinen Großeltern ziehen. Auch wenn Toshiya ständig das Gefühl hat seinen Großeltern zur Last zu fallen, ihren Enkel lieben sie von ganzem Herzen und wollen ihrem Enkel so gut es geht beistehen. Vor allem sein Opa mag es nicht, wenn Toshiya zu viel Rücksicht auf seine Großeltern nimmt, denn er will Toshiya helfen und ihm nicht zur Last fallen.
