Im Schloss von Azuchi herrscht ein Oberdämon, den alle Burai nennen und der durch seine Schreckensherrschaft in den Fokus des »Crimson Lotus Clan« geraten ist. Sein Ziel ist es, die Weltherrschaft an sich zu reißen. Von den umliegenden Dörfern verlangt er, dass monatlich mehrere junge Frauen zu ihm gebracht werden. Viele junge Frauen sind ihm schon zum Opfer gefallen und es ist kein Ende in Sicht. Er giert nicht nur nach deren Fleisch und Sex, sondern auch deren Blut. Burai ist kein leichter Gegner, weshalb es kein einfaches Unterfangen ist, zu seiner Residenz vorzudringen. Burai hat seine dämonischen Handlager wie Sai und Nuu, aber auch eine Vielzahl anderer Dämonen um sich. Trotz seiner Wachen hat er Rekka und seine Damen nicht unterschätzt und empfängt sie deshalb auch nicht unvorbereitet. Im Zweikampf mit Rekka zeigt sich, dass Burai äußert talentiert im Umgang mit dem Schwert ist.
