Akagane gehört dem Dämonenjäger-Clan »Black Steel« an. Er untersteht dem Anführer Lord Yasha, dem er vor langer Zeit die Treue geschworen hat. Zusammen mit Shirogane hat er bei den Aufträgen die Befehlsgewalt über die Kampftruppe. Die veränderte Mentalität von »Black Steel« gibt ihm zu denken, ob er nicht mit »Black Steel« brechen sollte. Sein Stolz als Dämonenjäger und sein Gewissen helfen ihm bei seiner Entscheidung. Akagane nimmt den Verrat in Kauf und verhilft Rekka und seinen Kolleginnen, das wahre Gesicht von »Black Steel« zu erkennen. Mit seinem Verrat bringt er Shirogane gegen sich auf und muss sich einem Duell mit ihm stellen. Akagane ist ein überaus starker Kämpfer, was aber an dem Dämonenblut liegt, welches er in sich trägt.
