Ashido Kanou ist ein Shinigami, der zu den Fillercharakteren in Bleach gehört. Er lebt seit Jahren schon alleine in dem Menos-Grande Wald unterhalb der Hueco Mundo Wüste und hat es sich zur Lebensaufgabe gemacht so viele Hollows wie nur irgendwie möglich zu beseitigen um Rache für seine getöteten Freunde zu nehmen. Er ist ein recht ruhiger Kerl, der Rukia Kuchiki bei sich aufnimmt, als sie im Menos-Grande Wald strandet.
Ashido trägt normalerweise eine erbeutete Hollowmaske zum Schutz vor seinem Gesicht und setzt sie auch ab und zu als Schutz vor Ceros ein.
