Rosalind ist Schriftstellerin von Beruf und auch sie ist ein »Third«. Aufgrund der hitzigen Demonstrationen gegen Roboter ist sie in einen anderen Stadtteil fernab der Innenstadt gezogen. Zur Zeit schreibt sie an einem neuen Kapitel für ihr Buch. Sie hat einen Computer mit Spracherkennung. Eines Tages nimmt eine unbekannte Person Kontakt zu ihr auf. Rosalind vermutet eigentlich Armitage dahinter, später stellt sich aber heraus, dass es sich nicht um Armitage handelt.
