Als landesweit bekannter Magier ist er für seine Freundlichkeit bekannt und erfreut Kinder mit seinen zahlreichen Tricks. Das ist allerdings nur Tarnung, denn in Wirklichkeit steckt hinter dem kleinen, unscheinbaren Mann ein unbarmherziger Assassine, der jeden Auftrag annimmt und ihm unheimlich viel Spaß bereitet. Was im Anime nicht wirklich herüber kommt ist, dass Hoo Fai eine etwas gewöhnungsbedürftige Kampftechnik hat, diese ist nämlich etwas unflätig und abstoßend.
