Bereits seit ihrer Kindheit kennen sich Akira und Shinobu, weshalb es wohl kaum einen Menschen gibt, der ihn besser kennt als sie. Daher ist es ihr auch nicht entgangen, dass sich zwischen ihrem Freund und ihrer gemeinsamen Mitschülerin Megumi etwas entwickelt hat, stellt sie folglich auch zur Rede, um die Wahrheit zu erfahren. Denn schon seit langem ist auch Shinobu heimlich in Akira verliebt, hatte nur noch nie einen Weg gefunden ihm das mitzuteilen, steht aber nun unter Zugzwang, will sie nicht endgültig leer ausgehen. Die unerwartete Konkurrenz bewirkt bei ihr daher auch, dass die ansonsten etwas verklemmte Shinobu sichtlich lockerer wird, bereit ist Megumis Herausforderung anzunehmen und, wenn auch etwas zögerlich, zu allem bereit ist um Akiras Herz für sich zu gewinnen. Nicht ganz unschuldig daran ist vermutlich auch der Sake, den sie und Megumi allerdings merklich besser vertragen, als der arme Akira, dem die ganze Situation anscheinend nicht besonders gut bekommt und bis an seine körperlichen Grenzen führt.
