Normalerweise kosten bei ihm Lampen zehn Dollar, da möchte er eigentlich keine Ausnahme machen und die von Minosuke veranschlagten 1,50 Dollar sind demnach ihm bei weitem zu wenig. Selbst für einen Rabatt aufgrund einer Großabnahme findet er es für recht wenig und er glaubt sowieso nicht daran, dass er auch nur eine einzige Lampe verkaufen wird. Da das Geschäft des Mannes aber offenbar ein wenig schleppend verläuft, schafft es Minosuke dennoch eine der Lampen für den gehandelten Preis zu ergattern und der Alte staunt nicht schlecht als Minosuke wieder kommt und drei weitere fordert.
