Nach den ersten schweren Erdbeben in Japan und der Androhung, das noch weitaus Schlimmeres folgen wird, gilt Takumas erste Sorge seiner Familie, weshalb er seinen persönlichen Sekretär Ikuo Jimichi sofort losschickt, um diese in Sicherheit zu bringen. Gleich danach kommt aber schon die übrige Bevölkerung Japans, für ihn das wichtigste Gut des Landes, denn alles andere kann aus seiner Sicht wieder aufgebaut werden. Aus diesem Grund hält er es für unabdingbar, dass die aus dem Ausland angebotene Hilfe angenommen wird, steht mit dieser Ansicht aber fast alleine auf weiter Flur. Für Takuma gilt indes aber ihren Stolz abzulegen, denn immerhin steht eine Naturkatastrophe sondergleichen vor der Tür und jegliches weitere Zögern würde die ganze Situation nur verschlimmern.
