Ryouko Asuka ist neben Nene Oomori, Chiaki Tanimura und Yuka Hanazawa ein weiteres Mitglied der Mädchengang Red Tails, die zuvor unter der Leitung von Aoi Kunieda stand. Durch ihre Gesichtsmaske zählt Ryouko zu den äußerlich auffallendsten Mitgliedern, aber eigentlich ist sie eine recht schweigsame Person und lässt nur hin und wieder etwas von sich hören. Meist sieht man sie in der Begleitung von Yuka, die einen netten Kontrast zu ihr darstellt, denn im Gegensatz zu Ryouko ist diese alles andere als mundfaul.
