Mizuna ist Suzuna Kurakis eineiige Zwillingsschwester und gleicht ihr bis aufs Haar - da sie ein wenig früher zur Welt kam, ist sie die Erstgeborene. Sie hat eine fröhliche, verspielte Persönlichkeit, redet allerdings nicht, wobei nicht bekannt ist, ob sie tatsächlich stumm ist oder aus einem anderen Grund niemals spricht.

Warum Suzuna statt ihr als Kandidatin für das Amt der Shinto-Priesterin auserkoren wurde, ist unbekannt; es scheint aber so zu sein, dass Mizuna potentiell dafür auch geeignet gewesen wäre. Suzuna erinnert sich allerdings auch überhaupt nicht an sie und es wird darauf geachtet, dass die beiden nicht zufällig in Kontakt kommen. Mizuna lebt im Schrein hinter dem Wasserfall, in dem Suzuna ihre rituellen Reinigungen vollführt. An ihrem Knöchel ist ein langes Band mit einem Glöckchen befestigt, welches genau so bemessen ist, dass sie die Höhle nicht verlassen kann. Sie könnte es zwar sehr leicht entknoten, tut es aber aus irgendeinem Grund nicht.
