Lyar von Eltiana begegnet der historischen Figur des Goemon Ishikawa während einer Expedition, die der Aufklärung des Phänomens der temporalen Verzerrungen um die Raumstation Watcher’s Nest dienen soll. Nachdem sie zufällig auf ihn stößt, bittet sie ihn sie zur nächsten Stadt zu geleiten (allerdings ohne seinen Namen zu kennen). Später nimmt sie sich seiner an, weil er durch den Kontakt mit einem GHOUL verletzt wird und sie eine Veränderung der Zeitlinie verhindern will.
