Als sein Freund verstirbt, ist er der einzige, der vermutet, dass es sich dabei um Mord handelt. Wirkliche Anzeichen dafür gibt es nicht, denn bei einem Alter von über achtzig ist es nicht selten, dass man durch eine Herzinfarkt sterben kann.

Das liegt daran, dass nach dem Fall der Berliner Mauer er und auch sein Freund nicht mehr gebraucht werden und viel eher eine Gefahr darstellen. Bei den beiden handelt es sich um Spione, die erpresst wurden, wodurch sie Informationen in den Osten weiterleiteten.
