Eine Nonne, die in einer Stadt wohnt, dessen Bewohner überaus friedlich miteinander leben. Keiner denkt auch nur im Geringsten an Streit und sie alle leben nach dem gleichen System. Arsène Lupin merkt jedoch sofort, dass etwas mit den Bewohnern dieser Stadt nicht stimmt, denn sie scheinen mehr mit einer Marionette gemein zu haben, als mit einem Menschen.

Das liegt an Menschenexperimenten, die Lavina mit den Bewohnern dieser Stadt durchführt. Mit dem Ziel, perfekte Soldaten aus ihnen zu machen, werden sie hypnotisiert, sodass sie jedem Befehl blind folgen. Ein Zustand, aus dem sie nicht erwachen können, da Lavina dafür sorgt, dass sie immer wieder von neuem hypnotisiert werden.
