Great Spirit ist der König unter allen Geistern und gilt als der älteste und mächtigste Geist auf Erden. Alle Lebewesen, egal wie klein oder wie groß sie sein mögen, entstehen durch die Macht des Great Spirit und enden letztlich wieder bei ihm. Nur der Shaman King, der Sieger aus dem gleichnamigen Turnier, das alle 500 Jahre abgehalten wird, darf sich dem Great Spirit nähern und ihn als Schutzgeist in Empfang nehmen.
