Es war von Anfang an offensichtlich, dass Zelgadis, dem Kuppi die Vaterrolle in ihrer Fischmenschen-Familie aufgedrängt hat, nicht der richtige Vater sein kann. Ihr richtiger Mann ist der heruntergekommene Toppi, der dem Glücksspiel verfiel, weil er seiner Familie mehr bieten wollte und letztendlich auch dem Suff, als seine Frau ihn verließ. Nachdem er mitbekommen hat, dass Kuppi sich einen Menschen als Ersatz für ihn ins Haus geholt hat, will er sie unbedingt zurück.
