Auf der neuen Ra nimmt Stoner die Position des stellvertretenden kommandierenden Offiziers ein und liegt somit in der Rangordnung an Deck des Schlachtschiffes an zweiter Stelle. Auf der Kommandobrücke nimmt er den Platz direkt neben Magane Hyuuga ein. In seiner Art wirkt er ruhiger und besonnener als sein Vorgesetzter. Beide pflegen außerdem ein vertrauensseliges Verhältnis zueinander, weshalb Stoner dem Kapitän auch mal in Bezug seines Handelns infrage stellen darf. Somit hält es Stoner für falsch, dass der Kapitän seinem Sohn Gou die Wahrheit verschweigt und stattdessen behauptet sein Vater wäre tot.
