Genau wie die drei Mädchen, die intensiv um ihn buhlen, stammt auch Tougo von einem der mystischen Guardians (Schutzgeister der Stadt) ab, in seinem Fall dem Beschützer des östlichen Tores (die Guardians sind nach Himmelsrichtungen eingeteilt). Die unfreiwillige Popularität bekommt ihm nicht gut, da die drei doch sehr aufdringlich sind. Außerdem kann man nicht sagen, zu welchen Anteilen ihre Avancen auf Gefühlen für ihn beruhen bzw. wie stark der Einfluss der in ihnen wohnenden Geister dafür verantwortlich ist. In ihrem Wettstreit ist er nur der bemitleidenswerte Spielball, der zwischen ihnen hin und her gezerrt wird – bis er auf den Gedanken kommt, dass sich die Situation auch zu seinen Gunsten ausnutzen lässt.
