Auf welche Weise ein Schwarm Bohrvögel jagt, verrät bereits der Name: Im Flug versetzen sich diese Vögel selbst so stark in Rotation, dass sie wie ein Raketenbohrer auf ihr Ziel zuschießen. Ihr Schnabel ist sehr widerstandsfähig, denn sie halten erst wieder an, wenn sie sich in ein Hindernis gebohrt haben, was sie völlig unbeschadet überstehen trotz der Wucht des Aufpralls.
