Miwako Sato ist Inspektorin für Gewaltverbrechen bei der Tokioter Polizei und arbeitet unter Kommissar Megure. Da sie eines der wenigen weiblichen Mitglieder in der Mordkommission ist, wird sie von sehr vielen männlichen Kollegen umschwärmt. Im Laufe der Serie verliebt sie sich in ihren Kollegen Wataru Takagi. Sato ist ihre Berufung als Polizisten sehr wichtig, sie ist ihren Aufgaben gegenüber sehr loyal und weiß private Gefühle von der Arbeit zu trennen. Sie beweist oft ihren Mut, handelt dadurch aber auch manchmal sehr leichtsinnig und voreilig.
