Der wissenschaftliche Leiter des Instituts für Psychiatrische Forschung ist ein freundlicher älterer Mann, der die Entwicklung des DC Mini, einem Traumanalysegerät, durch Dr. Tokita sowie dessen frühzeitige Praxistests durch Dr. Atsuko Chiba (aka Paprika) unterstützt. Die Forschung zum Wohl der Patienten ist sein Hauptaugenmerk und so verflucht er ein ums andere Mal seinen Posten im Vorstand, wodurch er sich zwangsläufig auch mit politischen Dingen herumschlagen muss.

Besonders auffällig an ihm sind die enorm dicken Brillengläser, die seine Augen übernatürlich groß erscheinen lassen – nimmt er sie einmal ab, erkennt man ihn kaum wieder.
