Juri ist die Präsidentin des Fechtclubs und ein Mitglied des Schülerrates.
Sie wird für ihre ruhige und elegante Art so wie für ihre herausragenden Fechtfähigkeiten respektiert, trotz ihrer distanzierten Art und einschüchternden Persönlichkeit, mit der sie selbst Lehrer in die Schranken verweisen kann.

Hinter ihrer harten Schale versteckt sich jedoch ein sehr sensibler Kern und ein in Liebesdingen tief verletzter Mensch. Eine Freundin von ihr fing mal eine Beziehung an mit dem Jungen, von dem sie dachte Juri sei in ihn verliebt; durch ihre Überzeugung Juri sei wütend auf sie, dafür ihr den Freund gestohlen zu haben, übersieht sie, dass Juri seit Jahren tatsächlich in sie verliebt ist. Ein Missverständnis, das Juri sich niemals traut anzusprechen.

Juri glaubt nicht an Wunder und eine ziemlich verbitterte Weltansicht, weshalb sie mit Utena aneinander gerät, für der ihre naive und optimistischen Art und ihren Glauben an Wunder sie kein Verständnis zeigen kann.
