Die Schwester von Yuu lebte zusammen mit diesem in einem kleinen Waisenhaus. Sie liebt ihren Bruder abgöttisch und dieser sie genauso, weshalb er öfters seine Wünsche für sie zurück steckt; so hat er für sie eine zwar billig wirkende Armbanduhr gekauft, die für Akane aber einen sehr hohen ideellen Wert hat - fortan hat sie die Uhr nicht mehr abgenommen. Akane starb jedoch bei einem Brand des Waisenhauses, verursacht durch ein Erdbeben, und Yuu blieb nur noch die Uhr als Erinnerungsstück übrig.
