Das Wiesel Piccolo ist ein treuer Begleiter von Romeo. Es hat sich in seiner Tasche versteckt, als er seine Reise nach Mailand begann. Piccolo schafft es immer wieder Romeo und seinen Freunden durch seine Anwesenheit Trost zu spenden, ob nun gewollt oder nicht gewollt. Zudem findet seine Nase stets Futter, was den chronisch hungrigen Schornsteinfegerjungen natürlich einen guten Dienst erweist. Allerdings will Piccolo natürlich stets seinen Anteil. Als Wiesel ist es ein flinker und schlauer Zeitgenosse für den auch die fette eher tollpatschige Katze der Rossis keine echte Gefahr darstellt.
