Ai gehört zur Clique um Aya Akabane, wenngleich ihre beste Freundin Konatsu ist. Im Vergleich zu den anderen wirkt sie relativ normal, weshalb sie von den anderen gelegentlich auch mal ausgelacht wird, obwohl ihr Handeln im Grunde sehr rational und schlüssig ist. Genauso wie Konatsu trägt sie eine gewisse Neugierde in sich, auch was Aya betrifft, allerdings enden ihre Begegnungen dann nicht so wie im Fall ihrer Freundin, die schwer von Aya misshandelt wird.
