Die vorletzte Überlebende der fünf Manta-Piloten; Iriya erhielt den Befehl, ihre letzte verbliebene Freundin Erika abzuschießen, nachdem diese die Kontrolle über ihren Manta verlor. Die daraufhin ausbrechende Loyalitätskrise von Iriya zum Militär sowie dessen Gegenmaßnahmen (das »Püppchen-Projekt«) bilden die Grundlage der Handlung des gesamten Anime.
