Es liegt an Manas Vater, dass das familieneigene Restaurant „Pig’s Tail“ sich so großer Beliebtheit erfreut, da seine Gerichte und er selbst schon eine gewisse Berühmtheit in der Stadt erlangt haben. Auch Mana und ihre Freundin Rikka sind von seiner Kochkunst immer wieder begeistert. Zu sehen, wie es den Leuten schmeckt, ist für ihn die größte Belohnung. Er ist wegen seines Talents kein bisschen eingebildet, auf Herausforderungen seines Stiefvaters, der immer wieder behauptet, dass er der bessere Koch ist, geht er aber trotzdem ein, denn dahingehend ist er genauso leidenschaftlich wie sein alter Herr.
