Osono betreibt zusammen mit ihrem Mann eine Bäckerei in der Hafenstadt, in der sich Kiki niederlassen möchte. Sie ist eine der ersten Personen, die Kiki gegenüber freundlich gesinnt sind. Als sie sieht, wie Kiki auf ihrem Besen durch die Luft fliegt, ist sie total begeistert und lädt diese gleich zu einem Kaffee ein. Als Kiki ihr die Sache mit dem Hexenjahr erklärt, bietet Osono ihr sofort ein Zimmer an, wenn Kiki sie im Laden etwas entlastet, da sie zur Zeit schwanger ist. Osono kümmert sich fast mütterlich um Kiki und wird von ihr auch als »gute Fee« bezeichnet. Nachdem Kiki beschließt einen Lieferservice zu betreiben, darf sie sogar das Ladentelefon mit benutzen und da Osono und ihr Mann Werbung für den Lieferservice machen, gewinnt dieser schnell an Bekanntheit.
