Die Schulärztin Yamiko fungiert sowohl als Medizinerin als auch als Vertrauenslehrerin an der Kiritsu-Oberschule. Sie hilft Kyou dabei, gegen den quasi allmächtigen Schülerrat vorzugehen, da sie ein vitales Interesse daran hat, diesen zu schaden. Worin genau ihre Motivation dafür liegt, bleibt vorerst im Unklaren, sie ist sich aber keinesfalls zu schade, sich selbst die Finger schmutzig zu machen. Sie ist sehr kampferfahren und wird daher mit den Schergen des Schülerrats problemlos fertig.
Sie macht stets einen leicht frostigen, mürrischen Eindruck, was ein wenig von ihrem Haustier, dem Frettchen Yamimaru, konterkariert wird, das entweder auf ihrem Kopf sitzt oder aus ihrem Dekollete herausschaut.
