Die Hausente hat ihre kleine Heimatinsel ihr ganzes Leben nie verlassen. Manchmal packt sie das Fernweh, doch letztendlich bleibt sie doch zu Hause, wo sie sich am besten auskennt. Zumindest theoretisch, denn obwohl sie genau weiß, welche Gefahren sich wo verbergen, vergisst sie das hin und wieder und läuft arglos mitten hinein. Als domestizierte Entengattung kann sie nicht besonders gut fliegen, hat es aber auch noch nie wirklich versucht.
