Louis soll im Auftrag von John Waldon bei der Verfilmung von Captain Futures Abenteuern die Regie übernehmen. Von dessen dubiosen Machenschaften ahnt er jedoch nichts.

Louis ist ein Perfektionist, daher erwartet er von seinen Mitarbeitern stets volle Leistung. Seine Geduld wird durch das überaus empfindliche Nervenkostüm seiner Entdeckung Shane Carson, den er selbst für die Hauptrolle ausgewählt hat und Joan Landor, die ständig am Inhalt der Drehbücher herummeckert, auf eine harte Probe gestellt.
