Ryouko ist als Forscherin im Bereich der Quantenphysik tätig. Sie arbeitet für das Magic Circle Project, welches danach strebt, den Fluss von Raum und Zeit zu kontrollieren.

Besteht ihre Arbeit anfangs noch hauptsächlich daraus, ein Phänomen nach dem anderen aufzusuchen, meist ohne Erfolg, so ist sie durch die Ankunft der Dragon Knights und den damit verbundenen Ereignissen später in der Lage einen tieferen Blick in die Materie zu werfen. Sie ist äußerst zielstrebig, konsequent und geht ihrer Arbeit souverän nach.

Nachdem sie von der Gefahr, welche vom Magic Circle Project ausgeht, erfährt, schließen sich Ryouko und Kyouji mit Takuya zusammen, um das Projekt zu stoppen.
