Masaru arbeitet in der Kommandozentrale von TERRA auf Nirai-Kanai. Er ist mit Youhei Yomoda befreundet, wirkt in seiner Art aber wesentlich seriöser und nicht ganz so aufgedreht. Dass die beiden trotzdem ganz gut zueinander passen, liegt vor allem an ihrer gemeinsamen, beinahe fanatischen Hingabe zu Quon, bei der dann auch Masaru vollends aus sich herauskommt. Wenn schlecht über sie gesprochen wird, verteidigen sie Quon daher mit Händen und Füßen und eine bessere Frau als sie existiert für die beiden sowieso nicht.
