Genau wie Yuuichi kennt auch Masashi Bunta noch aus alten Tagen und ist daher gut mit dessen Fahrweise vertraut. Auch heute noch ist er erstaunt über dessen Fahrtechnik. Als er dessen Sohn das erste Mal fahren sieht, ist er sehr erstaunt. Schnell muss er nämlich die verblüffende Ähnlichkeit zwischen den beiden erkennen und vermutet sogar zunächst, dass sich Bunta in dem AE86 befindet, das er fahren sieht. Inzwischen hat er seine eigene Kfz-Werkstatt, die von Bunta durchaus einmal aufgesucht wird.
