Gemeinsam mit ihrem Ehemann leitet sie das Café Niwa im kleinen Örtchen Hakuryuu. Ihrer Tochter Haruno gewährt sie die nötigen Freiheiten, weshalb sie sie nur wenig im Tagesgeschäft mit einbindet. Auch bezüglich ihrer Freizeitbeschäftigung zeigt sie viel Nachsicht und hat überhaupt nichts dagegen, dass sie Roller fährt. Derzeit gibt ihr vielmehr die Einstellung ihrer Tochter zu denken, da Haruno nicht mehr so optimistisch wie früher ist und all ihre einstigen Träume scheinbar begraben hat. Aus diesem Grund bittet sie ihre Freundin Cynthia B. Rogers aus Australien, die sie über das Internet kennengelernt hat, um Hilfe.
