Der Frosch mit seinem zerschlissenen Schirm ist eine der Inkarnationen des Gottes, in dessen Schrein der rechtschaffene Wanderer Zuflucht gesucht hat. Zusammen mit dem Frosch erscheinen Dutzende weiterer Schirme, die ebenso reparaturbedürftig sind. In einem Liedchen beklagt der Frosch, dass die Menschen die Dinge lieber wegwerfen und verrotten lassen, anstatt sich um sie zu kümmern. Der Wanderer jedoch erkennt immer noch die Schönheit der vormals kostbaren Schirme und macht sich daran, sie zu flicken.
