Daijirou Ise ist der Präsident der Myoujou-Karuta-Gesellschaft in Kyouko, zu der Shinobu einst gehörte. Bevor Funktionär des Karuta-Verbandes wurde, war er ganz fünfmal Meister des Karuta. Mittlerweile ist er Vorsitzender des Verbandes.

Shinobu besuchte als Kind die Karuta-Gesellschaft. Dabei bemerkt auch Daijirou, dass die Kleine oft Matches absichtlich verlor, um ihre Gegner nicht traurig zu machen. Weil ihrer Großmutter das gar nicht passte, sorgte er dafür, dass Shinobu nicht mehr gegen Gleichaltrige spielte. Für diese Maßnahme verachtet Shinobu Daijirou noch heute.
