Cure Tender ist das Alter Ego von Iona Hikawas älterer Schwester Maria. Der PreChan Mirror, den Iona zur Verwandlung in Cure Fortune benutzt, gehört eigentlich Maria – Iona benutzt ihn, um ihre Schwester zu rächen, die dem „Precure Hunter“ Phantom zum Opfer gefallen ist, und das obwohl sie eine sehr starke Cure ist. Ihre Stärke beruht vor allem auf ihrer Athletik und Schnelligkeit, in der sich die Kampfkunst-Ausbildung bemerkbar macht, die auch Iona genossen hat.
