Marrow hat die Gestalt von Dr. Zaro angenommen und den Stagäern von einer angeblich bevorstehenden Invasion von der Erde erzählt. Da er, wie er behauptete, nicht von der Erde stammt, haben diese ihm Glauben geschenkt und ihm dabei geholfen, die Illusion eines gigantischen schwarzen Planeten zu erzeugen, der mit der Erde zu kollidieren droht. Hierzu wurde ein unbemanntes Raumschiff mit Stagäer-Technologie ausgerüstet, so dass es das Trugbild des schwarzen Planeten in den Raum projizieren konnte.
